Holy Mount Kailash & Sacred Lake Mansarovar

–      The Heaven of the Earth –

According to the Hindus Mythology, Lord Shiva spends his most of the time on the top of the holy Mount Kailash, practicing Yogic austerities, joy and love with his divine consort Parbati (Mother of Mythology). The Lake Mansarovar and the holy Mount Kailash are the SOUL of all AUM followers in the world.

“Conventional wisdom says a single circuit of Mt. Kailash wipes out the sins of a lifetime, 108 Parikramas guarantees enlightenment. A ritual bath in the sacred Mansarovar Lake delivers pilgrim to Brahma’s paradise and a drop drink of its water relinquishes the sins of hundred of lifetimes.”

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2011 Overland Tour

Kailash Mansarovar Overland Tour

Holy Mount Kailas is one of the most popular ultimate Hindu pilgrimage sites in Himalayan region dedicated to Lord Shiva where every devotee wants to go. Mount Kailas, which is believed to have been formed 30 million years ago when Himalayas were in their early stage of formation, is one of the most revered places in the Himalayas.

Mt. Kailas, (6,714m) high peak is situated to the north of the Himalayan barrier, completely within Tibet. It is the perfect mountain with splendid beauty, with 4 great faces. It is the spiritual center for four great religions: Buddhism, Hinduism, the Jain religion and the pre-Buddhist animistic religion – Bonpo. For the Hindus Mount Kailas is the earthly manifestation of Mt. Meru, their spiritual centre of the universe, described as a fantastic ‘world pillar’ 84,000 miles high, around which all else revolves, its roots in the lowest hell and its summit kissing the heaven. On the top live their most revered God, Shiva, and his consort Parvati. For the Jains (an Indian religious group), Kailas is the site where their first diviner achieved enlightenment. For the older, more ancient religion of Bon, it is the site where its founder Shanrab is said to have descended from heaven.

Spread out on the Tibetan plateau beside Mount Kailas is the giant lake of shifting colors – Lake Mansarovar. Brahma, the creator, had a mind (‘Maan’) for the creation of a Lake (Sarovar in Sanskrit), hence its name. A pilgrimage to Mount Kailas and a dip in the Mansarovar is believed to bring about salvation (Moksha) and washed away all the sins of lifetimes. Over the centuries pilgrims have constantly journey immense distances to achieve enlightenment or cleanse themselves of sin, braving enormous distances, particularly harsh weather and bandit attacks. People have been visiting Kailas – Mansarovar for centuries. It used to be very hard journey in the past; today ABC Adventures (P) Ltd can bring you there with help of Land cruisers via Kathmandu.

This adventure begins with the drive across the Himalaya west into Tibet to Holy Lake Mansarovar. Here devotee joins the throng of pilgrims who, for centuries, have converged on this remote southwestern corner of Tibet to circumambulate the sacred mountain, considered to be the center of the universe by Hindus and Buddhist alike. Kailas enjoys great popularity the folk religion of Tibet – it is the soul of the country and assures protection for all Tibetans. The fountainhead of four great Asian Rivers (Indus, Sutlej, Bramhaputra and Karnali), few mountains reveals Kailas for its mystique, isolation and prominence, for 3 days devotees walk with pilgrims around this almost perfectly symmetrical mountain during this Voyage. Your trek / tour pioneered by ABC Adventures (P) Ltd takes you into northern riches of the country where only few trekkers have walked these trail, unchanged over the ages. The encounter with the herders, pilgrims and the local people will be lively and make for precious memory. It is an experience of a lifetime…!

“We do not Experiment, We Excel with Experience” – we have leaders are continuing this Voyage since 1996 and since then have been visited minimum dozens of time. The Company Team Leader Bhuban Bahadur Khadka (Ishwar) has been to Kailas more than 33 times in last 14 years, our experienced teamwork makes your Voyage smooth and pleasure.

Siklesh Trek although close to the main trekking region in the Annapurna region is a far less developed route with very few lodges or guest houses. Our destination is the beautiful and extremely well kept village of Sikles perched on a hillock at an altitude of 2000 meters. Siklis is famous for its very well maintained rustic flair and there are few better examples of a traditional Gurung village. Village lanes are narrow & these are flanked by stone & mud houses that are traditionally grouped in a ribbon. The trek itself is not a difficult one allowing time to study the wealth of flora and fauna to be found on route whilst also providing some wonderful views of Annapurna range,Nilgiri ,Dhaulagiri ,Tukuche peak ,Dhampus peak ,Hiunchuli ,Machhapuchhre ,Gangapurna,Lamjung Himal other many more greatest views of mountains you never seen before. Which is make you the real adventure of life time.As its rare to find teahouses in this rout, we have to go with all trekking/kitchen gears, therefore the trek called camping trek although being in Annapurna region.

Tamang Heritage Trail – Langtang Region

This itinerary takes you through verdant midlands of Nepal experiencing the beauty of this mountain region and the culture of the people who live here. The trail passes through traditional Tamang villages where life, culture, and crafts have remained unchanged since the beginning of the settlement. Warm traditional welcome hosted by the locals, their elaborate costumes, rich architecture of their mountain houses, and the ancient monasteries and places of pray add color to the experience of this trail. In addition to this, the trek also offers wilderness experience through beautiful landscapes of alpine terrain, flat meadows, and rhododendron forests. The inhabitants of the Langtang Valley are thought to be descendants of Tibetans from Kerung who intermingled with Tamangs from the Helambu area. The inhabitants of Briddim village are of the Tamang ethnic group but a marked influence of Tibetan culture and tradition is noticed in their lifestyle closely resembling that of most Tibetan villages. They are mainly sheep and yak herders, but grow some hardy grains and vegetables. The daily life of the villagers includes raising livestock, agriculture, and trade with Kerung in Tibet. Royal Trek

This trek has gained its name the ‘Royal trek’ because Prince Charles of Britain walked through it along with an entourage of 90 guest, entourage followers and staff in 1980 s. However, there are no village accommodations along this lodging route, thus member do this trek with our guided trekking groups. This is an easy, short trek that starts near Pokhara and offers good mountain views. It’s an excellent trek to do as sit does not entail any particular long walking days and there’s always plenty to see Nepalese village and the mountains. It is not a heavily trekked area giving all its beauty to one alone. As one is walking along the peaceful ranges with terraced hills all around, you will see colorful flora and fauna painting the landscape, eagles soaring high above and good mountain views including Machhapuchhare and Annapurna.
